The Desotos

Ticket price includes dinner

The Desotos band is made up of (6) talented musicians and singers who have been together for over 25 years.  Within The Desotos are four members of the legendary Martels.  Their music repertoire moves from the 50’s and the roots of rock and roll into the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s,00’s (rock, motown, country) as well as into today’s music thus satisfying a vast audience age group. The Desotos  offer you  four lead vocalists and the instrumentation breaks down as  3 guitarists, bass, keyboards & drums…all this to  add to your listening and dancing enjoyment.

Madeleine French

Madeleine is a talented and energetic young lady who performs with The Desotos from time to time.    She was  also one of the 3 lead vocalists in  The Martels Rock ‘n  Roll show for over 25 years.  Her voice takes people back to the days of Brenda Lee, Little Eva, and Patsy Cline adding a refreshing female dimension to the music of The Desotos.

Russ Strathdee

"Dr. Sax" Russ Strathdee is a sax player extraordinaire.  Russ hails from Toronto and began playing piano before switching to his beloved saxophone.  At age 17, Russ joined a progressive jazz band before moving on to his first rock and roll band, The Hound Dogs. Russ has backed most of the big name bands out of Toronto including Robbie Laine and the Disciples, and The Majestics featuring Shawn and Jay Jackson. Russ played the original Club Blue Note and had his own bar band at Yonge Street's famous Zanzibar Tavern. Russ was also one of the  feature members of the Martels’ Rock’n Roll  from 1989 – 2015.  Russ is a very busy saxophonist in the Huronia area and beyond. His sax solos never fail to bring the crowd to their feet.
